St. Elizabeth’s has been a Mission in the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas for 39 years. We are an open, inviting, and inclusive community of Christ followers who seek to love our God and our neighbors by being a loving presence in the communities of Buda/Kyle and surrounding areas.
The Rev. Michael T. Woods
Vicar
Fr. Mike was appointed to serve as the Vicar at St. Elizabeth’s starting in August of 2022. He previously served as the curate and then Associate Rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in San Marcos, Texas. Mike is married to Tami who is the Director of College Ministries in the Diocese of West Texas. They have been married 20 years and have three amazing children together: Harper, Hudson, and Hadyn. Fr. Mike has served in the Episcopal Church for 24 years as a youth minister, family minister, worship leader, college chaplain, and now priest. The Woods family loves to spend time in the water, playing board games, and doing pretty much anything outdoors. They are excited to be a part of the St. Elizabeth’s community.
Wanda Slater
Music Director / Church Administrator
Wanda Slater has been Director of Music at St. Elizabeth’s since 2015 and for over fifty years has performed as a Soprano Soloist, Church Cantor, Choir Director, Vocal Instructor, and Accompanist in a wide variety of settings. The music of the church has always been her passion and her goal is to bring sacred music to life in a way that is both meaningful and transformative. At St. Elizabeth’s, she has been blessed to work closely with her husband, Mark, whose contributions as a Trumpet player, as well as Composer and Arranger, have been invaluable in building a vibrant program of singers and instrumentalists. Away from church, Wanda loves baking, sewing, reading, entertaining, and traveling, and also works as an Executive Coach with Frame of Mind Coaching based in Toronto, Canada.
